Too often we are unfortunately discouraged from learning about God by zealous Christians who have confused Christian culture with Christian principles. Hence, this poems airs frustration on these occurrences while highlighting what is really important: Knowing God, understanding His principles, and living by them.
Poetry uses heavy biblical imagery to denounce hypocrisy and adherence to mindless traditions. It is really a human problem to act like we know or that we’ve “arrived” at some ideal state. This approach to living out our faith stunts continued growth and true actualization. The message is to live your life, abiding by biblical principles, but free from people’s paralyzing and diverging opinions.
